Mentoring
Mentors work one-on-one with youth to positively engage them in the community, emphasizing the goal of improving social, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Staff model these skills through activities such as: budgeting, arts and crafts, board games, sports, independent living skills, and community resources/programs. This program has a team approach with the youth’s support system.
Comprehensive Community Services (CCS)
Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) is a recovery focused, integrated behavioral health program for adults and children with mental illness and or substance use disorders. Positive Alternatives offers services to youth through the CCS service array of Individual Skill Development and Enhancement. Youth are paired with a staff member who works with them individually or in small groups on specific goals outlined in their recovery plan. Through activities tailored to each client’s specific needs, staff model and assist youth in developing healthy coping skills, pro-social behaviors, and problem solving while promoting positive community involvement.
