Positive Alternatives is committed to the health and wellbeing of the individuals and families we
serve, our employees, and the community. We are committed to maintaining essential business
operations so that those who count on our services can continue to be served. We have been monitoring
the COVID-19 coronavirus situation and have been guiding our employees.
Positive Alternatives operates five group homes for youth and many community-based services.
As many businesses in our community are suspending operation, we recognize many of the youth and
families we serve use our programs for mental health support, safety, or supervision. For many of the
youth we serve in our group homes, this is home. For this reason, our program and our staff will
continue to be here to serve our group home residents through this health crisis. We are, however,
suspending all non-essential services until further notice. We are asking each parent, guardian, or
service recipient of our community-based services if the services received by Positive Alternatives are
essential to your health and well-being. If services can be suspended, they will be, as social distancing
is currently essential to the health of our community.
Furthermore, Positive Alternatives is monitoring the COVID-19 situation, and we are providing
our employees with guidance. We have been in contact with public health and the Department of
Children and Families and will take all advised precautions, including social distancing of our staff and
clients. We are prepared for this health crisis and anxious for it to pass so we can continue to serve our
community.
Thank you for the privilege of serving you. We do not take this privilege lightly and will do
everything in our control to keep everyone safe while meeting our clients’ needs. If you have any
questions, you can reach me directly at kkamholz@positive-alternatives.org.
Sincerely,
Kelli Kamholz
