Positive Alternatives-Amery is now accepting resumes for an Evening Lead Staff Member. The primary duty of this Lead Staff will be direct care of the residents in the Group Home. Direct Care duties include, but are not limited to: supervising the daily routine, studying, participating in recreational activities, passing medications, and being a positive role model in all interactions. Additionally, the Lead Staff Member will assist with the case management and daily treatment oriented functioning of our eight-bed group foster home. The Lead Staff will assist in case managing the youth by being involved with developing and implementing treatments plans, and serve as a secondary contact for social workers, parents, and other treatment team members. This team member will also share various responsibilities of medication management duties, organizing and planning the house menu, and shopping for groceries as well as household supplies. The Lead Staff will be crucial in organizing both transportation to appointments and court hearings and will also provide resident support and supervision during these scheduled appointments. In addition, the Lead Staff will organize, plan, and run 10 week sessions of therapeutic groups for the youth in the home. The Lead Staff will also assist the group home manager in training of all new staff and serve as a solution focused liaison between direct care staff and management.
Ideal candidates will be energetic, positive, highly motivated, assertive, organized, confident, and skilled in developing strong and appropriate treatment centered relationships with the youth we serve as well as communicate respectfully and effectively with both family members and other collateral professionals including law enforcement. To be successful, a candidate will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and a good working skill set regarding computers and technology.
Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid driver’s license and a driving record free from violations. Applicants must also have 2 years of experience working with this population or an equivalent. A bachelor’s degree in a human services related field desired, but not required.
This is a full time evening position from 4pm-12am, although some flexibility will be required, to accommodate for scheduling needs. This position will also be scheduled to work every other weekend, and may require additional weekends and overnights if the scheduling needs of the group home require. This position is full time 40 hour per week plus paid holidays and earned personal and vacation time. Also included is medical insurance and a matched retirement investment option, supplemental insurance including, dental insurance, life insurance, disability insurance is also available. Starting pay for this position would be $14.00 per hour with the possibility of regular annual increases following successful completion of the initial six month probationary period, the supervisor’s recommendation and approval from the executive director.
