Jeremy Hernandez

Vice President + COO

Jeremy joined the team in December of 2004 and currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.

Jeremy felt compelled to join an organization like Positive Alternatives after observing the profound impact non-profit organizations have on the lives of youth and families during his early work experiences. It was important for him to work for a company that had a strong focus on helping people and a commitment to harnessing all available resources to fulfill that mission – both things Positive Alternatives embodies.

Upon receiving his Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, Jeremy’s journey at Positive Alternatives began in 2004 where he started as a Resident Counselor and found great enjoyment in working directly with the kids in the group home. This experience led him to explore different facets of the organization’s mission, including case management in community service and mentoring programs. Jeremy dedicated nearly six years to serving as the Menomonie Group Home Program Director before transitioning into a dual role as Assistant Director and Program Director of Community Based Services for several years. Following this, he assumed his current position serving as the organization’s Vice President and COO.

Jeremy values Positive Alternatives' dedication to providing quality care and services to the youth and families of Wisconsin and his collaboration with a dedicated staff who collectively share a commitment to assisting these individuals. The organization's culture, which emphasizes on acceptance, compassion, and a persistent pursuit for improvement, all aimed at achieving the best possible outcomes for those they serve, resonates with him.

Beyond his professional life, Jeremy enjoys quality time with his wife, Heather, and their three children, Olivia, Avery, and Alliyah, along with their dog, Reggie. His family loves being active and spending time outdoors, boating, fishing, and traveling. With all three kids involved in sports, they’re often traveling to events to cheer them on. In his spare time, you can find Jeremy golfing, attending sporting events, reading, and cooking.
