Meet Your Mentor

Alison Campbell

How long have you worked at Positive Alternatives?

I worked as a Resident Counselor in 2021 and as a Case Manager in 2024.

Where are you from?

My hometown is Andover, MN, and I live in Eau Claire now.

What drew you to working in this field?

I dealt with some personal traumas and struggles in my life, as everyone does, and one day, I put it into perspective that some people have fewer resources than I did to work through those difficult times, and that if I could be there for others, I'd like to help.

What is your educational background?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire with a minor in English.

What is your favorite mentoring activity?

I love being creative, so anything related to painting, drawing, crafting, etc., is a great way to focus on something other than life's problems and create something new.

What is your favorite thing about being a mentor?

Connecting with and getting to know others.

Passions & Pursuits

I'm a big movie buff, I love music, art, video games, and reading. When it's nice out, I like being outside, swimming, playing tennis with friends (I'm not very good, though), and going on walks.

What’s On My Plate

Does chocolate count? Chocolate. Or pasta.

Ideal Movie Night

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Playlist Picks

I'm a big Ariana Grande fan, but I also love indie music.
